Of these 3 new phones the Nokia 1112 is an addition to the popular Nokia 1100 family phones that has sold over 100 million units. I reviewed the Nokia 1100 ring tones earlier and let´s now see if the new Nokia 1112 and its ring tones differ from the olde Nokia 1100.

Nokia 1112 Ring Tones

Like the Nokia 1100 the new Nokia 1112 also has ring tone composer that let you can compose your own ring tones. Like most other cell phones the 1112 supports OTA ring tones, which means Over The Air - yes you can download new ring tones via SMS.

The Nokia 1112 supports 20-chord polyphonic ring tones and MP3-grade tones. I still wonder what Nokia means with MP3-grade ring tones. Is it MP3 ring tones or not? Anyway the Nokia 1100 doesn´t support these MP3-grade ring tones nor does it support polyphonic ring tones. The Nokia 1100 has those bliip, bliip ring tones and the technical naming for those ring tones is mono ring tones.

The screen, whilst small, has 65,000 colours, and the phone has an integrated digital camera that takes reasonable quality pictures. The screen and the camera quality are better than the Nokia 3200, although not in the same league as the Sharp GX15 or Sony Ericsson T630.

with the Nokia 1100 you can compose your own ring tones or download third party ring tones from a ring tone service. As you might know there are several different ring tone formats and the Nokia 1100 does not support all of them. The most advanced ring tone formats like the mp3 format is not supported as ring tones.

As far as I know the Nokia 1100 has fixed ring tones, 1 Nokia ring tone and 34 other monophonic ringtones. Mono ring tones are those basaic biib biib tones. Polyphonic ring tones are not supported. Polyphonic ring tones are those more melodic ring tones that play several tones at the same time.
